There were reports of Sanjay Dutt following in to the footsteps of his late father, Sunil Dutt and contesting Lok Sabha elections. However, that’s far from the truth as the actor himself has lent a clarification on the same.
Taking to his Twitter page, he wrote, "The rumor about me contesting for the Loksabha elections is not true. I stand with my country and in full support for my sister @PriyaDutt_INC. I urge everyone to come out in maximum numbers and cast their vote for our nation!"

Sanjay Dutt’s father, Sunil Dutt was the Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports in the Manmohan Singh Government and his sister, Priya Dutt is a former Member of Parliament. Meanwhile, there are reports of actress Urmila Matondkar contesting Lok Sabha elections. She will be contesting from North Mumbai constituency. While, there has been confirmation on these rumours, the Internet has been buzzing with stories of the actress planning to join Congress.
